The Procurement Act 2023 came into force on 24 February 2025. Purchasers should increasingly treat procurement as an end-to-end commercial life cycle, rather than a procurement exercise that ends at contract award.
The Act creates significant post-award transparency and performance obligations. The design of KPI and SLA regimes has fundamentally changed, making post-award contract management decisions more visible and potentially more consequential for contract managers and their organisations.
Under the new regime, transparency continues after contract award. Contract managers need to understand the statutory requirements to issue notices and the impact of
- Contract Details Notices
- Contract Payment Information
- Contract Performance Notice
- Contract Change Notice
- Contract Termination Notice
The decisions and actions of contract managers will now be highly visible, and they (and their organisations) will be accountable for the validity of their decisions.
In response to this, we have developed a 2-day course
Contract Performance Management Regimes under the Requirements of the Procurement Act
15 and 16 Dec 2026
The course provides participants with the knowledge and practical guidance to design and implement a compliant KPI and SLA performance management regime.
