
Live Instructor-Led Introduction to the Procurement Act 2023
Aims
This “Live” instructor-led course aims to enable participants to understand the fundamental changes to the public procurement landscape and to apply the new regulations to ensure compliance and optimal outcomes.
Target Audience
This course is designed for those who have direct or indirect responsibility for public procurement, including commissioners, end-users, and suppliers, who wish to understand the fundamental changes to the public procurement landscape in the UK.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the background of the EU-based Regulations and why the new UK Procurement Act has changed
- Appreciate the principles and objectives of the Procurement Act, including the requirement for value for money, transparency, integrity and the due regard for smaller businesses
- Understand the new procurement procedures – Open, Competitive, Flexible and Direct Award and the relevant sections of the Act
- Understand the derogations associated with defence and security, healthcare, social care and education procurement
- Understand how the Act will place value for money at the heart and unleash opportunities for all businesses, charities and social enterprises to innovate in the context of public service delivery
- Appreciate how to implement the Act in practice in some of the key areas of change
Course Delivery Options
Option 1
