
Live Instructor-Led Scoping, Tendering & Legal Aspects Course
Aims
To provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to be an effective member of the contracting or procurement team and to enable them to clearly define requirements, undertake the tender and bid process and appreciate the legal aspects of tendering and contracting.
Target Audience
This “Live” instructor-led course is designed for all those who have a direct or indirect responsibility for the effective securing of resources for the organisation. It would also be useful for those new to procurement or contracting. The target group could include team members of the supply chain, commercial, procurement, contracting, inventory, transport and warehousing teams. This could also include those seeking a refresher in this subject.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Develop robust and review contract and commercial plans, including scopes of work and award strategies
- Undertake early market engagements (including SME’s) and design considerations
- Understand the legalities of contracts and commercial and commercial management
- Deal effectively with key stakeholders to ensure their engagement
- Utilise effective selection and award methods and models (including Carter’s10 c model) and use these models to prepare robust propositions
- Conduct effective contract and commercial management activities, including developing ITT, RFP, RFQ
- Manage the process of contractor debriefing
- Understand suppliers’ pricing factors and strategies

Classroom Delivery
