Level 4 — Live Instructor-Led Diploma in Procurement and Supply

Study with DPSS – A CIPS Centre of Excellence

Purpose / Audience

  • This is typically the first diploma-level qualification in procurement with greater depth, combining theory and practice.
  • Entry possible with Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g. 2 years in procurement) or suitable prior academic credentials.
  • Equates to roughly the first year of an undergraduate degree in many frameworks.

L4M5: Commercial Negotiation6 creditsNegotiation strategies, tactics, negotiation in multi-party settings, achieving value through negotiation. a
L4M6: Supplier Relationships6 creditsRelationship management strategies, partnership vs transactional models, supplier performance management.
L4M7: Whole Life Asset Management6 creditsLife cycle costing, total cost of ownership, asset maintenance and disposal, sustainability across the lifecycle.
L4M8: Procurement and Supply in Practice12 creditsIntegrative module applying the procurement cycle end-to-end, case studies, applied learning, real procurement problems.

Assessment

  • 6-credit modules are assessed via Objective Response (OR) exams (approx. 1.5 hours)
  • 12-credit modules are assessed via Constructed Response (CR) exams (essay / case study, approx. 3 hours)
