World CC (formally IACCM) “Live” Commercial & Contract Management Practitioner Certification – CCMP

Aims

This course is designed to empower the participant with the skills and knowledge to understand and apply contracting and commercial principles and techniques in an operational or managerial role.

Target Audience

Practitioner Level (CCMP) is ideal for experienced (and semi-experienced) contract or commercial managers from both the public and private sectors who would like to demonstrate significant achievements in the field, by gaining knowledge, methodologies and exposure to best practices. At the practitioner level, it is expected that candidates will have some varied experience.

The course is also suitable for technical people, focal points, commercial managers, contract officers, customer success managers, client services manager, supplier relationship managers, customer account managers, facilities managers, IT service delivery managers, escalation managers, sales managers, business development managers, contract governance, project managers, team leaders and finance managers who have a responsibility for managing contracts but may not be contract or commercial specialists.

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Conduct effective contract and commercial management activities, including developing and responding to SOW, ITT, RFP, and RFQ

  • Negotiate effectively with key stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, vendors and clients, making use of the key skills of persuading and influencing to optimise outcomes for both sides

  • Undertake effective Supplier Relationship Management to improve performance

  • Appreciate the implications of national and organisational culture on contract and commercial management activities

  • Set up and maintain contract and commercial management governance frameworks

  • Take a proactive, collaborative, and agile approach to managing contract and commercial agreements with contractors and clients

  • Explore and overcome the challenges of customer and client retention

  • Develop and monitor appropriate and robust Key Performance Indicators and SLA’s to manage the contract and commercial activities, and facilitate improved performance

  • Appreciate the cross-functional nature of contract and commercial management

  • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and clients to deliver sustainable performance and to manage and exceed expectations

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of contract and commercial managers

  • Utilise effective selection and award methods and models (including Carter’s 10 c model) and use these models to prepare robust propositions to clients.

  • Make effective use of lessons learned to promote improvements from less-than-optimal outcomes, using appropriate templates

  • Effectively manage the process of change, escalations, claims, variations, dispute resolution and customer complaints

  • Make appropriate use of best practice contract and commercial management tools, techniques, and templates.

Course Delivery Options

Classroom Delivery

Research shows that some professionals prefer physical classroom courses. These are held at our training centre in London (or at the client’s venue). Participants will enjoy the benefits of the physical classroom experience delivered by our Subject Matter Expert. They will be able to collaborate with fellow participants, ask questions, discuss case studies, current commercial challenges, and practical insights. They will also benefit from coaching, exploring solutions, and generally interacting in the classroom environment.

Virtual Delivery

Research also shows that other professionals prefer live-streamed tutor-led events via the Zoom/Teams platforms. This sometimes due to the logistics of attending training room events. The number of participants will be limited to ensure an effective and enjoyable learning experience. Our Subject Matter Expert will deliver the course. Participants will be able to collaborate with fellow participants, ask questions, discuss case studies, current commercial challenges and gain practical insights. They will also benefit from coaching, exploring solutions and generally interacting in this virtual classroom event.
