Live Instructor-Led Contract Drafting Course

Aims

To provide participants with an overview of the applicable legal system related to drafting contracts. To understand and draft legally binding contract terms, whilst identifying key risks and highlighting when specialist advice is needed.

Target Audience

This “Live” instructor-led course is for those who have direct or indirect responsibility for drafting commercial contracts and agreements. Those responsible for the review of commercial contracts and negotiations with clients and contractors.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how terms are incorporated in the contract and interpreted by the courts to ensure the organisation’s interests are protected
  • Differentiate between drafting express and implied terms and conditions, and warranties
  • Understand and avoid the battle of the forms
  • Identify key legislation which shapes drafting contracts
  • Illustrate how contracts can be ended
  • Understand the value of the terms audit
  • Draft the key contractual terms and conditions for the organisation
  • Understand the importance of legal language and terminology when drafting contracts
  • Understand and apply the principles of drafting contracts and simplification
  • Drafting applicable remedies in the event of disputes

Course Delivery Options

Classroom Delivery

Research shows that some professionals prefer physical classroom courses. These are held at our training centre in London (or at the client’s venue). Participants will enjoy the benefits of the physical classroom experience delivered by our Subject Matter Expert (UK-licensed paralegal). They will be able to collaborate with fellow participants, ask questions, discuss case studies, current commercial challenges, and practical insights. Virtual Delivery

Research also shows that other professionals prefer live-streamed tutor-led events via the Zoom/Teams platforms. This is sometimes due to the logistics of attending training room events. The number of participants will be limited to ensure an effective and enjoyable learning experience. The course will be delivered by our Subject Matter Expert (UK-licensed paralegal). Participants will be able to collaborate with fellow participants, ask questions, discuss case studies, current commercial challenges and gain practical insights. They will also benefit from coaching, exploring solutions and generally interacting in this virtual classroom event.
