Live Instructor-Led “Mini” MBA Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

Aims

The aim of the British CDP Standards Office-accredited “Mini “MBA in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) is to enable and empower managers in all sectors of the economy to tackle the challenges and opportunities when forming and managing complex commercial relationships.

The content of this course is meant to represent that part of a traditional MBA called an elective subject, which would be part of the MBA programme; this course is not a full MBA programme.

Target Audience

This “Live” instructor-led course is aimed at those who manage suppliers from the perspective of developing strategic relationships and part of the tactical delivery team regarding SRM within their organisation. They will have substantial interaction and responsibility for a select group of strategic and bottleneck suppliers. They will have knowledge of the commercial environment of their organisation, the organisation’s purchasing strategy and how it manages suppliers and contractors. Typically, they will facilitate the development of contracts to ensure that KPI’s and SLA’S are met and will support the selection methodology for suppliers and contractors.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic precepts of all commercial relationships
  • Understand the role SRM plays in creating value in supply-chain / supplier relationships.
  • Segment suppliers by risk and value criteria
  • Develop contracting principles to foster desired behaviours, drive collaboration and innovation.
  • Influence and work with key stakeholders and executive management to get support for SRM approach.
  • Create good governance, organisational design and cultural change practices.
  • Understand how SRM links with procurement, category management and contract management for effective relationship
