Live Instructor-Led Agile Contracting and Managing Change

Aims

There are many challenges in relation to establishing sustainable trading relationships in increasingly volatile and uncertain business conditions. This has led to new thinking in the approach to contracts and ‘agile’ agreements. Agile agreements and agile contract management demand greater levels of collaboration between the parties, in particular, the extent of communication and a focus on outcomes.

Target Audience

This “Live” instructor-led course is ideal for those contract managers who need to be able to react to changes of circumstances and still produce a satisfactory outcome.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will have a good understanding of:

  • Introduction to Agile agreements designed to offer flexibility and to manage change or uncertainty
  • The characteristics of an agile contract and when to use agile contracts
  • The challenges and benefits associated with the agile model
  • The typical elements of an agile contract
  • Application of Agile techniques when there is clarity over the desired outcome, but uncertainty as to how that outcome will be achieved
  • Challenging the traditional waterfall model
  • Undertaking risk assessment and understanding the capabilities of the various parties to manage risks associated with Agile contracting
  • The contracts and commercial team need to find information about every contract type and its suitability in specific situations
  • Understand that Agile contracts are an ‘incremental delivery agreement’.
  • The use of cost-targeted agreements.
